BOOKS OF THE BIBLE

(coming soon)

Project Overview

This exhibition features 66 unique images, each representing a passage from one of the books of the Bible. Every image is meticulously crafted to evoke the aesthetic of a centuries-old painting, blurring the line between photography and classical art. The goal is to provoke thought and curiosity, prompting viewers to ask: Is this a photograph or a painting?

Innovative Process

At the heart of this project is a groundbreaking photographic technique I developed by reimagining the historical gum oil printing process. Through extensive experimentation, I refined this method to give modern photographs the tactile depth and visual texture of antique paintings. As a deeply personal and symbolic gesture, I incorporated my own blood into select layers of the prints, adding an organic, human element that connects body, spirit, and scripture. This technique not only enhances the painterly effect but also underscores the emotional and spiritual intensity of the subject matter.

This is just one of several printing methods used throughout the series. A combination of both historical and contemporary techniques has been employed to explore and expand the visual language of photography, ensuring each image carries its own distinct material presence and narrative weight.

Exhibition Tour

The exhibition will travel across the United States, offering audiences a unique sensory and contemplative experience that bridges photography, theology, and fine art.
